2024 Dunlop Cup Round 2

I participated in the second round of the Dunlop Cup.
The challenge will see the team change tires from CST CM-SRR to Dunlop TT93GP.
The cornering speed on this course wasn’t that great, but there were many points where the car had to be open.

For the KX112, the course involves four times in third gear, two times in fourth gear, and once in sixth gear, so in the first heat, the engine would rev to fifth gear.
This is a great course for the KX, which makes heavy use of shifting and offers many highlights.

In the first heat, it had been a while since I last attacked the 93GP, so there were many aspects that I was not used to, and although I was troubled by a lack of turning power and grip, I somehow managed to slip into 7th place overall.
I heard that the viewers laughed every time a shift changed, and it seems that the rhythm of the shifts makes it enjoyable for the viewers.
It makes me very happy if there are people who feel good and enjoy watching me run.
Speaking personally, I enjoy riding the KX112 more than any other machine I’ve ridden up until now.
I think that attacking with full control over the bike really makes you feel like you’re in motorsports!!!

In the second heat, I tried changing the air pressure to correct the tires that were loose, but it backfired and made the car slip, so it was a disappointing attack.
I lost time.
However, this time too, I shifted up to third gear in the first heat and then tried staying in second gear in the second heat, and I was able to confirm that shifting the gears resulted in a better increase in speed, which was a good learning experience for future riding.
I’ve noticed this for a while now, but my next challenge is how to use the engine when it’s not in its power band.
It becomes necessary to reconcile your intuition with the actual speed and understand it.
I wonder if it will take about a year to hone this sense and further develop the KX’s potential?

Now the question is how far we can push the limits of the TT93GP, which cannot hide its lack of potential.

Next up is the KSR tournament, the Jimuchaya Cup, but since there are no tire restrictions there I would like to challenge it with the CST CM-SRR.
