I went to Okinawa to participate in the Autobahn Cup Gymkhana on December 22nd, and since I sent the KX112 this time,
Autobahn’s president, Mr. Shiroma, asked me if I wanted to participate in the Uruma Mayor’s Cup 2&4 race to be held on January 19th, so I decided to participate.
This race has a minimotard class, so the KX112 can participate.
So I had to practice at the circuit in Okinawa! So I went to Okinawa on the 21st and went straight there.
I went for a drive around the Kukuru Circuit.
This circuit is mainly for karts and minibikes, and minibike races are also held here.
This time, several Minimotors participated.
As it was my first time on this circuit and road surface, I was cautious and wondered whether the final was right for me and what the grip level would be.
I arrived at 2 o’clock so I decided to just run two sets of 15 minutes.
The tires were also hand-me-downs from gymkhana, 601SS with only about half the wear, but my final best time was 25.24 seconds, which seemed like a decent time.
I think I could shorten the time a bit more if I got new tires, but I had to prepare for the gymkhana, so that’s all for today.
This is what it looked like on the blog of China, who helped me out.
The day after the Gymkhana competition ended, I went to Okinawa Kartland.
This is a place that has been running for a long time, but they opened it for us even though it is closed on Mondays.
According to the president, there aren’t many people who can run a minimoto in under 26 seconds, so my first goal is to get under 26 seconds.
At first the final was not quite right, so I made it 5-gun long and it felt just right.
I continued attacking while thinking about how to tackle the course, and finally my best time of the day was 25.5 seconds.
The Kukuru Circuit is exactly 1 second slower than Kartland! If you go by what the president said, if you put on good tires,
I wonder if Kukuru will end up in 5th place with a time of 24 seconds?
I haven’t driven on the circuit recently, but in the second half I felt like I was getting the feel back and was able to drive at a good pace.
I would like to continue this momentum and challenge for the Uruma Mayor’s Cup.
The Uruma Mayor’s Cup is also at a good level, with former All Japan Motard Champion Akamine, GP rider Yuki Takahashi and other fast riders participating, so I don’t know how well I’ll do, but I think I’ll be able to keep up with the times, so I’ll do my best without getting hurt. This is my first time at the Ikeijima Circuit, but I’d like to take advantage of my gymkhana riders’ adaptability (lol).
The problem is probably the physical strength of the elderly (laughs).
